Alex's Bio

My name is Alex Lakis, and I am a 37-year-old Annapolitan native who has been working professionaly in the music industry for around 15 years.

I began recording my friends in college around 1998. When I moved back home to Annapolis, I continued to record local talent. I eventually made my way over to LSP Studios in Crownsville, MD, where I met Les Lentz, who has been one of the main recording forces in the Annapolis area for over 15 years. I recorded many acts there, learned a lot, and had a lot of fun.

I eventually decided to move to Los Angeles. I got a job as a co-studio manager and house engineer at Forster Sound. I was working in the studio where "We Are the World," Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and Steely Dan (among many others) were recorded. I recorded a bunch of local talent there, including several of the biggest artists in the world for major record labels. I also worked alongside Grammy-winning producer/engineer Paul Mckenna (Tori Amos, Frank Sinatra, Enrique Iglesias, Circle Jerks, etc.) I learned a lot about the biz, made a lot of friends and professional contacts, received awards, and continued to hone my skills.

When my son was born, I decided to move back to my hometown of Annapolis. Now, I own my own production company and recording studio, and pride myself on making a living recording albums that people will actually want to listen to and remember. I have a beautiful wife, and my little boy is getting bigger every day (he loves playing drums and piano!)

If you're in the tristate area and you need to record or need to get your tracks mixed or mastered, feel free to hit me up and let me know what your goals and ambitions are. Send me some links, MP3s, or come on down and play for me and I'll let you know what I can do for you. You can also send me your recorded tracks online and I can mix or master them and send them back to you! It's as easy as that!
